Who, What, Why?
Founder of Susty Mama, Monica Castillo, started her journey into sustainable, low waste living after attending a sea turtle conservation program in Costa Rica in the summer of 2015. Since then, she has slowly transitioned to living more ethically by educating herself on environmental and social issues, and is passionate about sharing what she learns with others. She is a wife, mother, multi-business owner, sustainability content creator, rescue diver, marine science communicator, and hopeless daydreamer.
In a world full of green washing and toxic marketing, we want to educate our community and empower them to make more sustainable choices. Everyone is on their own journey in this life and we want to offer guidance in the choices that matter most to them without judgment.
We believe transitioning to a sustainable lifestyle doesn’t have to be difficult. Starting in small areas once items expire and opting for a more eco-friendly alternative is simple and effective. Sustainable living for us isn’t only greener options for your home, it is a holistic approach of your life in general by prioritizing healthy relationships, rest, mental and physical health, and self care.
